Ruby-garnet in color, with an intoxicating nose of prune, peppercorn, wet tobacco, and vibrant green bell pepper, this 2020 Grenache is rich, medium bodied, and has a lovely palate of stewed cherries, tomato vine, cacao bean and a finish of tart strawberry and persimmon skin.
This ultimate “food wine” and pairs well with a variety of dishes from braised beef to light curry stews.
A staple in the blends of the Southern Rhone and a fixture in most regions of Spain, where it is believed to have originated, Grenache is one of the most widely planted varieties in the world. It thrives in warm climates and has found a happy home at Miraflores, perched high on our west-facing, well-drained hillside at 2,700 ft elevation.
